Finding out that I can draw was a huge surprise. I never envisaged that I would be a pet and equine portrait artist.
I have never studied art and had never heard of Coloured Pencils being used as an artist's medium until July of 2019, when my journey began.
Follow me on my evolving journey.
I use good quality coloured pencils for my pet portraits/animal drawings.
Faber Castell Polychromos,
Derwent Lightfast, Studio & Drawings,
Caran d'Ache Luminance 6901
My preferred surface is Clairefontane Pastelmat
I am married to Penny and live in Burton on Trent with our two Golden Retrievers Pippa and Cilla. The first animal drawings I produced were of these two scoundrels.
I love nothing more than going away in our touring caravan with friends and of course, the dogs.
Our favourite destinations are Cornwall and North Yorkshire.
Obviously, my pencils come too!
Was a dumping ground for anything and everything! Previously used for me to do woodwork...it's surprising how sawdust gathers!
Our lovely builder, Rob created this beautiful, bright workspace. I'm ridiculously excited to have my very own studio!
I now have a dedicated studio that I can hide away in. The lighting is superb, so I will have the right light whatever the weather! I just hope Penny remembers to bring me a cuppa!
